Traumatized children within a milieu of addiction – Pastoral perspectives

Children who experience repeated trauma and emotional injury, eventually enter adulthood with an excess of emotional scars. Emotional instability as well as physical problems are usually among the most important long-term consequences. If there was also an addicted parent who was part of this childhood milieu, then this factor ultimately has overwhelming implications. In this course, there is particular focus on these two areas of pain and woundedness as well as their effect on people’s later lives and relationships. Throughout the course we also focus on relevant pastoral perspectives.
